We're thrilled to announce that EcoLogic has been awarded a $50,000 grant from F5's annual Tech for Good program, focused on climate justice.
The F5 Tech for Good grant program received nearly 300 applications from nonprofits worldwide, and we are honored to be among the ten organizations selected for this year's grant.
This prestigious grant will support our ongoing efforts to empower rural and Indigenous communities in Central America and Mexico to protect and restore ecosystems and combat the pressing issues of deforestation and climate change while improving vulnerable populations' livelihoods.
How will we use the grant?
Purchase GPS units to monitor land use changes in real-time and identify areas at risk of deforestation and forest fires.
Invest in computing equipment to analyze data collected from GPS units and develop effective conservation strategies.
Deliver comprehensive training and ongoing technical support to local communities and partner organizations on the use of these tools for sustainable land management practices that enhance ecological restoration.
"We're thrilled to be at the forefront of innovative conservation practices, and we are deeply grateful to F5 for this incredible opportunity," said EcoLogic's Executive Director Barbara Vallarino. "This grant will enable us to leverage technological solutions for more efficient forest and biodiversity protection while ensuring these tools are rooted in local knowledge and expertise."
The support from F5 is a tremendous boost to our efforts, and we are excited to continue leveraging technology to further our mission and drive positive environmental and social impact. Thank you to F5 and to everyone who supports our work!
Stay tuned for updates on how this grant will help us make a difference!
